4.1 “Berpantang”
In Malay culture, a women who has delivered a baby should practice “berpantang” which means prohibited from doing something that will lead to affect their health conditions which they need a well rest after delivery a baby. Duration for “berpantang” normally will take around forty days or 100 days.
In this time, women are not allowed to eating with her wants and doing some works which need lots of actions. For example, the meals which lead an irritation can make the worsen effect to their health. In contrast, they need a nourishment food like rice, “ikan haruan”, milk or warm water.
Furthermore, “bertungku” can help to normalize the scratches stomach. “Tungku” is made formed a stone that should make it warm. A few of leaves is using to balance the temperature of the hot stone. The reason why “bertungku” is necessary because it can make the women who delivered baby can have an ideal shape of body.

4.2 “Tanggal pusat/Cuci lantai”
The umbilical cord will break off in a week. “Cuci lantai” ceremony will be conducted on Mondays or Thursday.
Equipments that needed:
- Turmeric rice with the meals
- A chicken
- Nail
- Present for midwife like a clothes
Thanksgiving feast will celebrate at the beginning of the ritual. After that, the midwife will recite summons while holding a chicken. Before that, a mother and her baby will take bath and massaging.
4.3 Giving names
It is good if the baby boys can be given prophet names or good meaning names meanwhile for girls, prophet wives name are selected.
4.4 “Cukur rambut”
The ritual always celebrates on the seventh day after delivered.
The equipment needed:
- Bowl of the water, turmeric rice and corn.
- Coconut
The baby will be bringing to the middle of the occasion and every guests needed to shave a few of the baby’s hair and the guests should in the odd numbers. The hair will collected in the coconut and it should be burry on the backyard in the conjunctions as symbol of memorize the baby’s birthday.
4.5 “Naik buai”
This is the only ritual that still practicing in the Malay community nowadays. The ritual is celebrate in a marry feast especially if the family have perceive a first children or grandchildren in the family. “Nazam” or “marhaban” will recite by a group of male or female. At the end of the ceremony, the group will achieve “Bunga telur” or “bunga rampai” as a present. Nowadays, “naik buai” ritual will conducted with other rituals such as giving names and “cukur rambut”.
4.6 “Jejak tanah/ Turun tanah”
In some places, the ritual called as “memijak tanah” ritual. It is a symbol for the baby to survive in his or her life. Thanksgiving ceremony will be held and the end of the feast the mat will prepared. On the mat, the parents will locate a few of object such as mirror, watch, comb, bracelet, ring, necklace, powder, shoes, clothes, scissors, porridge, water and money. The child will chose his or her objects and it symbolized his attitude in future.
4.7 “Bersunat/ Berkhatan”
